Music and Moods

Music is used to enhance movies by creating moods. Jaws would not be what it is without a musical score in the background. The slideshows found below show the difference music can make. All of the shows are exactly the same except for the music. The first one is without, the second is with scary music and the last one is with peaceful self-reflecting music.

This could be expanded by having the students watch some movies and commenting on the impact the soundtrack has in various scenes. Good examples of this can be found in the Star Wars Trilogy.
