Clapping Rhythms

This is a follow the leader kind of game. The leader starts with a four count rhythm that the group will have to clap back. This continues for 10 different rhythms. Then a new leader is chosen.

To extend this activity different meters could be introduced to give students an opportunity to hear and perform different meters. This could help students come to understand different rhythm patterns.
